It’s that time of the year when employers must complete their OSHA form 300 Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses and post the OSHA form 300A Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses for the 2017 calendar year.

OSHA Recordkeeping Requirements

The OSHA forms 300 and 300A must be completed even if you did not have any work-related injuries or illnesses during the 2017 calendar year.

Once you have reviewed the OSHA form 300 Log and verified that the entries are complete and accurate, you must then complete the OSHA form 300A Summary which requests the totals from the categories on the OSHA form 300 Log.

When the Log and Summary have been completed, the Summary must be posted in a visible location where your employees can view the injury and illness information. The Summary must be posted from February 1, 2018 to April 30, 2018.

The OSHA forms 300 and 300A can be obtained at OSHA’s website, found under the Record keeping Link. Should you have questions or need assistance with completing the forms, please do not hesitate to contact one of our workers’ compensation specialists, loss prevention specialists, or Deb Mueller at 952.707.8208.
