Climate attribution science is the body of evidence that examines how increased atmospheric gasses impact the global climate and cause increased frequency of extreme weather events.  This science is beginning to play a bigger role in litigation and liability.  In the building arena for example, this could mean additional risk related to the failure to take extreme weather into account during the design.  In this article, Lindene Patton explains how attribution science may lead to changing legal duties, increased climate change litigation, and additional insurance industry impacts.
