Speaker Biographies

Attorney Elizabeth (Liz) Poeschl, Partner at Meagher+Geer PLLP, focuses her practice on the prevention and the litigation of business-related disputes — especially those involving construction, products liability, and life sciences. She serves as Co-chair of the firm’s Life Science practice group and of the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. She has been named to the Minnesota Super Lawyers® list (only five percent of the lawyers in the state were selected). Liz has won several successful jury verdicts in litigation defending designers in different multi-million-dollar projects.

In her construction practice, Liz defends contractors, project owners, land developers, architects, engineers, manufacturers, and suppliers involving private and public construction projects of all types. She also works with these parties to establish the contracts, documentation, and procedures needed to help them avoid conflicts that could give rise to litigation and potential liability. Liz is a member of the MSBA Construction Law Section and the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry. Liz also speaks regularly on a wide range of construction industry topics and seminars hosted by local and national organizations.

Attorney Lenae M. Pederson, Partner at Meagher+Geer PLLP, focuses her practice on complex civil litigation—with an emphasis on disputes related to design professionals and products liability.

In her professional liability practice, Lenae defends architects and engineers in private and public construction projects of all types, including claims associated with highway design, building design, roof design, parking ramp design, heating and refrigeration system design, oven equipment design, and several other commercial designs. Lenae has won successful jury verdicts in litigation defending engineers when millions of dollars were at stake.

Lenae helps clients from initial case assessment, through the discovery phase and complex motion practice, to a successful outcome of the case. In all of these efforts, she counsels her clients on better business practices that will help them avoid litigation in the future.

Lenae speaks regularly on a wide range of litigation topics at seminars hosted by local and national organizations. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law.

Kelly Brenna is Senior Vice President of Benefit Services at Kraus-Anderson Insurance. Kelly started with Kraus-Anderson over 20 years ago, focusing on starting a Human Resources and Employee Benefits division. Kelly’s passion for business, dedication to clients, and strong leadership has been an integral part of the growth of the agency. She is licensed in many states in Life/Heath and holds the SHRM – SCP (Society of Human Resources Management – Senior Certified Professional) and SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) designations.

Ginie Klopp is Vice President of Employee Benefits and HR Services at Kraus-Anderson Insurance. She has been with KA for over 2 decades focusing on Human Resource consulting and Employee Benefits administration. Ginie uses her experience to develop creative solutions to help clients lead their organizations. Throughout her career, Ginie has demonstrated remarkable leadership and program management capabilities and has helped steer Kraus-Anderson Insurance through significant employment growth and expansion. She is diligent, trusted, knowledgeable, and determined in her pursuit of executive excellence and the embodiment of organizational core values. She is licensed in Life, Health, Property and Casualty Insurance. Ginie has earned her SHRM-SCP (Society of Human Resources Management – Senior Certified Professional) designation.
